SS1 hits more antimony inside its 539M ounce silver equivalent JORC resource
Our Investment Sun Silver (ASX: SS1 | OTCQX: SSLVF) just keeps hitting antimony within its giant silver project in Nevada, USA.
SS1's project has a 539M ounce silver equivalent JORC resource - the largest pre-production primary silver resource in the USA and on the ASX.
Over the past ~18 months (before antimony became popular) SS1’s been intercepting antimony within its resource footprint.
SS1 has hinted in the past that its project could end up having an antimony resource that sits alongside its silver.
We think a maiden antimony resource could be a major catalyst for SS1 - mainly because it would add a critical mineral the US needs to what is an already giant silver project…
Here is where SS1 hit antimony from in today’s announcement - the red highlight is the current silver equivalent resource, the green intervals are the antimony hits):

Here is a look at the hit itself, with antimony grades well within this range plus some longer intervals at twice that average grade:

And on the silver side of things (what the resource is mostly built on, there were continuing high grades from the expected areas (within the resource and also just outside):

Why do we care about the antimony?
Because we have seen primary precious metals deposits get financing support from the US government when they have a big critical mineral by-product attached to them.
For context ~US$4.3BN Perpetua Resources secured a US$2.9BN loan from the US EXIM bank for its primary gold project (which just so happens to have the USA’s biggest antimony resource).
We think that the same thing could happen for SS1 IF it can define an antimony resource of its own.
Of course there is no guarantees SS1 will be able to define any economic antimony resource.

What's next for SS1?
🔄 Drill results from the current program
With four rigs turning, we should see a steady flow of results.
The infill drilling for the resource upgrade and the one we are looking out for the most - the extensional drilling to the north-west of the existing resource:

🔲 Scoping study - Q4 2026/Q1 2027
The maiden scoping study will pull together the resource, met testwork, and mine planning into an economic picture.
This is the one we think could change the way the market views SS1’s projects (finally giving it some project economics context)
Recently SS1 confirmed Ausenco (a global engineering company) will be used as lead engineering consultant who will help run studies for the Scoping Study/Preliminary Economic Assessment due by the end of the year.
🔲 Maybe a maiden antimony resource?
We have written in the past about how SS1’s deposit may also host a giant antimony resource to go with the silver.
IF a maiden antimony resource can be defined, we think it would be a game changer for SS1’s deposit AND could open up US government funding pathways for developing its project.
