Our US critical minerals Investment OD6 Metals (ASX: OD6) has now registered with the US Government's System for Award Management (SAM.gov).

SAM.gov is the system the US Government uses to provide projects inside the US with federal contracting and financial assistance.

By registering, OD6 will be able to pursue US Government contracts or funding opportunities.

OD6 owns a fluorspar project in Nevada - USA.

Fluorspar is a critical mineral used in hydrofluoric acid, AI chips, batteries and defence tech.

And the US produces near none of it, being 100% net import reliant for fluorspar in 2025 (source).

The US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) currently has fluorspar listed as a priority material under an open program to rebuild domestic critical materials supply chains.

That program also specifically calls out refining, processing and beneficiation as areas of interest:

Which directly relates to why we are Invested in OD6 - to see it drill out and then build a “fast to production” strategy for its project.

And hopefully along the way, repeat what Canadian listed Ares Strategic Mining was able to do with its Nevada fluorspar project.

(~A$110M capped Ares was able to land a US government supply contract worth up to US$250M)

We think OD6 could position itself similarly, and recent moves puts the company a step closer to the US investors (OTC listing) and this move (government agencies/funding opportunities) that matter.

Especially as OD6 has explicitly mentioned prior that it may pursue fast-tracked permitting under a FAST-41 application for its project:

We lay out why we think OD6 has a shot at funding here: Why did the Pentagon give a US$250M contract to a Canadian small cap?

What's next for OD6?

🔄 Target generation for US fluorspar project

We want to see OD6 sample in and around the old workings on its project, run some geophysics and generate high priority drill targets ahead of its maiden drilling program.

Milestones:

  • ✅ Rock chips
  • ✅ Channel sampling
  • ✅ Historic drill results
  • 🔄 Digitisation of scanned paper maps and cross-sections into a 3D geological model
  • ✅ Soil/channel sampling
  • 🔲 Geophysics
  • 🔲 Drill targets generated
